FRIENDS

Today some friends from Idaho came for a visit. It was a good visit. They came on the Cruise ship that is here for the DAY. I met them at the dock and took them around the island. We had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, a little more sight seeing, showed them the new place and took them back to the ship. It was short and sweet. A great visit. Since I was at the west end of the island, I thought 'why not enjoy the sunset at my favorite beach bar and grill 'Rhythms'. A good day, even if I was completely out of touch.

Enjoyed the day with these friends. They used to think I was nuts, now they're convinced.

Time to get those 80's Disco Divas out of town. (not my friends, but the last two musical selections Gloria and Patti)

  1. The picture of the beach scene is very cool. I love the beach. In fact, the image looks almost like the Philippines where I now find myself traveling, sans the bigger waves at your end of the world.

Cruises are sweet, but the downside is that the stops are short. Then again, come to think of it, it isn't much fun showering on a vessel that is heaving from port to starboard when you've just enjoyed several drinks with the Captain. Now I know how the elderly fall and break their hips! lol

    Peanut or Brazil nut?

You know that the moment the camera was turned off, all them good ol' boys got drunk, loud 'n' rowdy!

I have a Road Atlas that shows pretty much every American highway I've ever driven on.

So I got it out and took a look. I haven't been through Swan Valley, although I did find it on the map.

I have, however, been to Idaho Falls - twice - on my way to and from Butte, Montana. I even have one of those "mental still-picture" shots in my mind of the actual falls at Idaho Falls.

If you were in Swan Valley in 1988, then you could probably hear me, brother Nappy, and Pooh making racket while we were passing through I.F. (We're those guys who kept you awake while you were trying to nap in the afternoon.)

  12. One year ago I was on one of those cruises with my parents, at their request, to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. This year they're back on another one celebrating their 51st. They love cruises because it allows them to travel despite my mom's inability to walk very far. And I guess the good thing about cruise ships from your standpoint is that they bring friends around to visit.
